Quantification of multianalyte by UPLC–QqQ LIT –MS/MS and in-vitro anti-proliferative screening in Cassia species

•Comprehensive quantitative analysis of phytoconstituents of five Cassia species in different plant parts.•Ultra performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry used for quantification of 18 compounds.•In-vitro anti-proliferative activity screening was done in all parts of five Cassia species.•Principle component analysis technique was used to discriminate the samples.•The proposed method would serve as a useful tool in the quality control of Cassia species.
