Abstract
Continuous flow LVADs are increasingly used in end-stage heart failure and require therapeutic anticoagulation. Gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB) is one of the most common adverse events reported following LVAD implantation with a reported incidence of 20-40%. There are no population-based studies evaluating outcomes in hospitalized LVAD patients with GIB.
