Abstract
Frequently, pancreatic carcinoma (PC) is inoperable at diagnosis and palliation is the treatment of choice. Pain, jaundice and duodenal obstruction deserve immediate palliative care. Endoscopic insertion of self-expandable metallic stents (SEMS) is used to relieve biliary and duodenal obstruction. Management of these patients in a single session with EUS-FNA, pain relief by EUS-guided celiac plexus neurolysis (EUS-CPN), and relief of biliary and duodenal obstruction by endoscopic placement of SEMS, has not yet been accurately defined. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the effectiveness of this modality of treatment and improvement in patient's quality of life.
