Abstract
Acute gastrointestinal graft versus host disease (GVHD) is a common complication of allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant (allo-HCT). Histologic confirmation is commonly used to corroborate a clinical impression of GVHD, however, there are confounding factors, which may lead to false-positive and false-negative interpretations and sub-optimal patient management. Probe-based confocal laser endomicroscopy (pCLE) represents a novel endoscopic technique allowing in-vivo imaging at a cellular level.
