•We developed a multi-scale model of hepatitis C virus infection.•Patient-level processes and molecular details of viral replication are considered.•Our model reproduces clinical time-course data of viral load under antiviral treatment.•We predict treatment efficacy of daclatasvir can be improved by combination therapy.
