Genome-wide transcriptional profiling reveals that HIV-1 Vpr differentially regulates interferon-stimulated genes in human monocyte-derived dendritic cells

•The first global transcriptional profile of monocyte-derived dendritic cells in response to HIV-1 Vpr was revealed.•More than 200 genes showing differential expression patterns were identified.•HIV-1 Vpr specifically induces various interferon stimulated genes, which were validated by quantitative real time PCR.
