Life-time integration using Monte Carlo Methods when optimizing the design of concentrated solar power plants

•Yearly energy collected by a concentrated solar power plant is accurately estimated.•An efficient Monte Carlo algorithm is proposed using integral formulation.•Additional CPU time due to time integration is decreased using subtle concepts.•It is now easier to optimize a CSP plant taking into account its life time.
