Abstract
Three experiments were conducted with broilers to determine the level of red blood cells (RBC) that can be included in diets with or without supplemental amino acids without negatively affecting growth performance. The inclusion of up to 6% RBC with the supplementation of Ile and Arg resulted in similar growth performance when compared with broilers fed a corn- and soybean meal-based diet. However, without supplementation of Ile and Arg, only the inclusion levels of 0.5, 1, and 2% RBC resulted in similar growth performance when compared with the control diet.
