Abstract
•The development of an NHBD program allows us to maintain and even increase the amount of renal transplants from cadaveric donors.•Maastricht II donors present a lower relative frequency in the O group (27.7%) compared with DBD (39.4%) or Maastricht III (45.7%). It could affect negatively to transplant accessibility for O group recipients.•The proportion of primary nonfunction graft from NHBD is acceptable (5%–9.8% vs 5.6% from DBD). The incidence rate of delayed graft function (65.0%–70.7% vs 28.7% from DBD) is high, complicating the initial evolution of recipients.
