Abstract
Hormonal therapy is the treatment of choice for advanced prostate cancer. Neuroendocrine differentiation of tumor has been shown to be one of the mechanisms involved in deleterious evolution of the disease, being the Chromogranin A (Cr A), an immunohistochemical marker of this differentiation to castration refractory prostate cancer. The objective is to relate the presence of chromogranin A in the biopsy specimen with the disease survival and progression and the response to chemotherapy.
