UP-02.153 An International Multi-Centre Phase II Prospective Trial Evaluating Focal Therapy Using High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (Sonablate 500) for Localized Prostate Cancer

Focal therapy potentially offers cancer control, without the side effect profile of radical therapies. Phase I/II trials using HIFU have demonstrated high rates of genitourinary functional preservation and early cancer control. Large multicentre trials are needed to evaluate medium-term cancer control and reproducibility of patient-reported outcomes. We report on the trial design of an investigator-led trial using HIFU to deliver focal therapy in the UK and Canada.
