摘要

•A new, spectroscopy-based method to estimate threshold friction velocity (TFV).•17 key wavelengths in the VIS–NIR range were identified.•The new method is non-invasive and non-destructive.•The new method can be used for airborne or satellite sensors for TFV mapping.
