An unprecedented (4,8)-connected net featuring gsp2 topology and containing an exceptional coordination mode of acylamide ligand

A new acylamide coordination polymer, namely Cd(L)(0.5)(NDC) (1), was prepared by the hydrothermal self-assembly of Cd(NO3)(2), N, N'-bis-(3-pyridyl)terephthalamide (L) and naphthalene-1,4-dicarboxylic acid (H2NDC). The outstanding structural feature is an unprecedented (4,8)-connected gsp2 topology with the topological symbol (4(4)6(2))(4(16)6(12)).
