Background: Microvolt T wave alternans (MTWA) predicts life threatening ventricular arrhythmias in some patient groups. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether MTWA can identify a subset of implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) patients, at increased risk for appropriate ICD therapy.
