Abstract
ing 1,250 mg/kg of Celecoxib was ranged between 1-5 IJ-M.In tissue culture, Celecoxib at 5-20 IJ-M caused growth arrest and apoptosis in HCA-7 cells.Higher concentrations (> 100 IJ-M) was required for induction of apoptosis in both HCTl5 and HCTlI6 cells. Conclusions: Inhibition of COX-2 activity by Celecoxib may explain the inhibition of the growth of HCA-7 xenograft. The COX-2 independent inhibition of growth of colon cancer cells requires very high concentrations of Celecoxib that may not be possible in human and animal models.
