Vanadium doping of LiMnPO4: Vibrational spectroscopy and first-principle studies

•LiMnPO4 doped with 10% of vanadium was prepared.•Extra bands in Raman and IR spectra reflect the (VO4)3− vibrations.•Ab initio calculations show that V→P substitution is energetically preferable.
