Abstract
•Synthesis of a fluorinated monomer by condensation between cyclic lysine (i.e. α-amino-ε-caprolactam) and perfluorobutyryl chloride.•Synthesis of aliphatic polyamides bearing perfluorinated groups by activated anionic ring-opening polymerization of lactams.•Monitoring the exothermicity of this polymerization.•Increased surface hydrophobicity and thermal stability.
