•Establish of a new type of RLS biosensor based on the conversion of gold nanoclusters into gold nanoparticles.•The first report of the sensing of H2O2 and glucose by using BSA stabilized gold nanoclusters as the RLS probe.•Provide a versatile platform for detecting many kinds of substrates which generate H2O2 by using their corresponding oxidases.
