Abstract
The results of computer simulation of selection effects in spectroscopic observations of quasars are presented. It is shown that selection effects can not explain the phenomenon detected earlier by the authors. The phenomenon consists in quasars with absorption lines having significantly higher mean luminosity than quasars without absorption lines.
