•We study perylene and naphthalene substituted with aromatic rings for thin film transistor.•We choose two different dielectrics depend on surface polarity.•Correlation electrical characteristics of four devices are shown.•Increasing benzimidazole side chains will exhibit good performance for dielectric with lower surface energy.
