Evaluation of a computerized cardiovascular simulation system using patient-specific data

Objectives: Different medical devices are used for the permanent monitoring of cardiovascular parameters in patients treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) following cardiac surgery. Syringe pumps achieve a continuous administration of cardiovascular-active drugs. Recently, we reported about the development of a computerized cardiovascular simulation including an automated controller to regulate the administration of cardiovascular-active drugs. Now, ICU data were collected from patient monitors, syringe pumps and medical records to evaluate the efficiency of the developed simulation.
