Investigation of the high excitation 8Be region

The differential cross section of the Li-6(d,alpha)He-4 reaction has been measured at deuteron incident energies between 18.2 and 44.5 MeV. The energy dependence of the C-l/C-0 coefficients deduced from the Legendre-polynomial analysis of the angular distributions and the behaviour of the integral cross section indicate the possible existence of highly excited Be-8 levels at E(x) approximate to 41, 43 and 50 MeV.
