Abstract
Cell phones and electronic devices have become mainstays of everyday life. Electronic communication through mobile device represents a means of contact that can be used to enhance or even replace the traditional in person post-op follow up. This project seeks to examine the utility of routine clinical follow up after cholecystectomy and evaluate feasibility of electronic communication via mobile device. We hypothesized that mobile technology access would be prevalent and that there is little utility of routine in-person follow up after emergency admission for cholecystectomy.
