Abstract
•CdS/reduced graphene oxide composites were prepared by a combustion method.•The phase changed from hexagonal to cubic phase by increasing the added amount of GO.•The composites showed excellent visible-light photocatalytic properties.•The plausible mechanism of photodegradation was discussed.
