Contrasting chemical and isotopic signatures from Neoproterozoic metasedimentary rocks in the Central Iberian Zone (Spain) of pre-Variscan Europe: Implications for terrane analysis and Early Ordovician magmatic belts

•Neoproterozoic metapelites from the northern and southern CIZ are chemically different.•Metapelites from the N-CIZ show high LILE, LREE, Th, U, Zr contents.•Metapelites from the N-CIZ have high negative ɛNd540 values and old Nd model ages.•Contrasted Early Ordovician magmatic belts appear in both zones.•Two new terranes within the CIZ can be defined.
