Abstract
•Poly 1,8-diaminonaphthalene (PDAN) modified electrode based on glassy carbon (GC) electrode was prepared.•Nickel ions (Ni(II)) were incorporated into the polymer backbone.•The modified (Ni/PDAN/GC) electrode exhibits stable redox behavior (Ni(II)/Ni(III) couple) in aqueous 0.1M NaOH solution.•The modified electrode exhibits electrocatalytic activity for the electrooxidation of ascorbic acid, uric acid and glucose.
