Abstract
ABSTRACTAn indirect, mediated genetic transformation of Atropa belladona vitroplants has been performed using the disarmed Agrobacterium tumefaciens pTi carrying the marker nptII gene for neomycinepliosphotransferase and the reporter gus gene for β-glucuronidase. Their expression into the plant host genome conferred the kanamycin resistance trait and respectively, the β-glucuronidase activity. These ones have been easily detected by both in vitro and molecular-genotype (PCR) and phenotype (protein)—assays.
