Back Cover: Photoinduced Isomerization and Hepatoxicities of Semaxanib, Sunitinib and Related 3-Substituted Indolin-2-ones (ChemMedChem 1/2016)
ChemMedChem(2016)
Abstract
The back cover picture shows the photoisomerization of the thermodynamically stable (Z)-semaxanib to (E)-semaxanib and evaluation of their hepatotoxicities. Semaxanib and 3-substituted indolin-2-ones photoisomerize with different rate constants with no clear correlation with the substituents. The E/Z isomerism affects the toxicity of the compounds such that each isomer contributes differently to toxicity. More information can be found in the Full Paper by Christina L. L. Chai et al. on page 72 in Issue 1, 2016 (DOI: 10.1002/cmdc.201500475).
