摘要
This study aimed to identify the prevalence and factors associated with active transportation to work among basic education teachers in the public school system of the state of Minas Gerais. It is an epidemiological, cross-sectional, and analytical study, conducted as a web survey with teachers working in public basic education schools. Data collection took place between October and December 2021 through an online digital form. The dependent variable was active transportation to work, categorized as yes or no. Descriptive, bivariate, and multiple analyses were conducted using Poisson regression with robust variance. At the end of data collection, 1,907 teachers participated in the study, distributed across 354 cities in Minas Gerais, with 77.2% being female. Regarding transportation to work, 73.2% of teachers used inactive transportation, such as cars, motorcycles, and buses, with a higher prevalence of inactive transportation among teachers dissatisfied with their teaching job (PR=1.04), those who reported poor sleep quality (PR=1.03), those with inadequate dietary habits (PR=1.06), those physically inactive (PR=1.03), and among those classified as obese (PR=1.03). The results of this study revealed a high prevalence of inactive transportation to work among teachers, with this data being associated with important unsatisfactory health determinants such as sleep problems, physical inactivity, and poor dietary habits.
