Abstract
Background: Previous measurements of eye lens dose performed on interventionalists have shown that the new recommended annual limit of 20 mSv can be exceeded. This increases the need for systematic and appropriate use of protective equipment in standard clinical conditions. In this study, a very comprehensive Monte Carlo study is performed to evaluate the protection efficiency of different designs of lead glasses, considering all different working practices during interventional procedures.
