Effect of Cu and Ni on sulfide film formation and corrosion behavior of pressure vessel steel in acid sour environment

摘要
•Corrosion and HIC resistance of the steel in sour environment are investigated.•Numerical curve-fitting with Wagner-Traud equation to polarization data is performed.•Various kinetic parameters relating to the sour corrosion are determined accurately.•The sulfide film formed on the surface of Cu and Ni bearing steel has smaller cracks.•Cu and Ni bearing steel exhibits lower corrosion rate and higher HIC resistance.
