Understanding the dense stripe domains in soft magnetic film

•We proved that the domain width of the stripe domains depends on the external magnetic fields.•We proved that the dense stripe domains in soft magnetic film cannot attribute to the emergence of Bloch wall or the existing of the out-of-plane anisotropy.•We give a new interpretation of the dense stripe domains which are only the fluctuation of the magnetization in the film.
