摘要

•TiO2–SiO2 thin films confirm a natural and persistent super hydrophilicity.•These properties can be easily photo-regenerated after a long aging period.•The stability of the prewetting film is enhanced by an electrochemical double layer in conjunction with surface roughness.•The prewetting film is able to withstand to vaporization.
