Breadth of Training, Not Depth in Training, Needed for Family Practice-Reply
AMERICAN JOURNAL OF DISEASES OF CHILDREN(1986)
Abstract
In Reply .—I appreciate Dr Guazzo's thoughtful comments. I am compelled to ask, Is family practice not a specialty? I have hoped that those trained in family practice were able to handle with expertise those problems, medical and psychological, that uniquely affect the interactional components within a family. If this is true, the specialty of family practice is confronted with the same problems relating to primary care as is the specialty of pediatrics.
