Abstract
A simple single-shot optical waveform characterization technique based on a novel 'balanced' all-optical ultrafast differentiation concept is proposed. Single-shot, real-time measurements of Gigahertz-bandwidth amplitude-and-phase continuous-time optical modulation waveforms are experimentally demonstrated.
