Completions of the Goldschmidt G(3)-amalgam and alternating groups

Here we prove that the alternating group of degree n is a faithful completion of the Goldschmidt G(3)-amalgam if and only if n is not an element of {1,2,3,4, 5,7,8, 9,11,12,16,17,19,23).
