摘要
In this chapter, the main corrosion-erosion peculiarities to have emerged in the primary and secondary cooling circuits of WWER-type PWRs are presented and discussed. Special attention is paid to the description of the structural and technological specificity of WWER reactors. The comprehensive survey reveals that an optimized strategy for selecting the appropriate material quality and corresponding water chemistry provides the most direct tool, and consequently, plays a key role in corrosion control and mitigation both in the primary and secondary systems.
