Abstract
Revisiting their two-year research project has given the authors an opportunity to experiment with the conceptual tools of Deleuze and Guattari. Their research redesigned learning stories, the accepted mode of pedagogical documentation in Aotearoa New Zealand, to gather information and understanding of the impact of increased adult participation in teaching and learning in early childhood education. While, at the time, they used arborescent methods and mode of thinking, experimenting with rhizomatic modes of thought and ‘lines of flight’ has offered different interpretations of their findings.
