Hemoperitoneum from corpus luteum cyst rupture in pregnancy of unknown location

A 29-year-old primipara woman presented with abdominal pain. A urine pregnancy test was positive. Ultrasonography revealed hemoperitoneum, but there was no sign of any intrauterine pregnancy. On abdominal exploration, there was a massive hemorrhage with a ruptured corpus luteum on the right ovary. The diagnosis and management difficulty of corpus luteum cyst rupture with a concomitant positive pregnancy test but without exact confirmation of pregnancy location is discussed.
