Abstract
This review provides a view of the evolution of diversity training in the workplace via models-by-decade for the 1990’s, the 2000’s, and the 2010’s. A picture is worth a thousand words, and this review offers a unique visual comparison of each decade. The scope of this review includes the quantitative empirical research conducted about diversity training in the workplace setting. The articles include peer reviewed journal publications which were published in the English language literature between January 1990 and September 2012. Each model and the corresponding quantitative research of diversity training in the workplace for each decade is presented and discussed. A new directions model which includes suggested areas for future research is presented. Several issues of the field are identified and discussed.
