Abstract
This work assesses the socioeconomics effects of a biofuel-production factory over an eminently agrarian area through stakeholder analysis. Furthermore, it sets out an action strategy to promote the sector in the region integrating several measures that were previously considered as priorities by some of the agents implied in the factory performance. For this aim Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) has been applied. Results reveal that factory's impacts on rural development were considered to be minor and lower than expected. In addition, it is worth to highlight that stakeholders gave high priority to economic policy actions devoted to promote biofuels consume and to regulate stable markets as a strategy to encourage the development of a sustainable energetic model.
