Epidemiology of bean anthracnose Colletotrichum lindemuthianum under sub-humid mid-hills zone of Himachal Pradesh

Investigations on recurrence and development of anthracnose disease (Colletotrichum lindemuthianum) on kidney bean in relation to weather variables in sub-humid mid hill areas (Zone 11) of Himachal Pradesh revealed that heavy and frequent rains with moderate temperatures (19-2S0C) and high relative humidity (>70 %) favoured the progress of disease in term of vertical and horizontal spread. Correlation and regression analysis of the disease with weather factors further confirmed their role in the disease development. Anthracnose of kidney bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) caused by Colletotrichum lindemuthianum (Sacc.& Magn.)Brios. and Cav. is a serious disease in almost all the bean growing areas of the world including India
