Biosynthetic Studies of Reticulol, an Isocoumarin, by 13C-NMR Spectroscopy

Biosynthetic pathway of reticulol was studied by 13C-NMR spectroscopy on 13C-labeled compound and degradation experiment of 14C-labeled compound. The results indicated that the carbon skeleton of the reticulol molecule was the polyacetate in origin and the methoxy group of reticulol was derived from the methyl of methionine.
