Growth Responses of Southern Highbush and Rabbiteye Blueberry Cultivars at Three Southern Locations
Journal of Small Fruit & Viticulture(2018)
Abstract
ABSTRACT Southern highbush blueberry cultivars Georgiagem and O'Neal and rabbiteye blueberry cultivars Climax and Tifblue were grown at three southern locations for six years. There were differences in soil nutrient and physical properties between the locations. Rabbiteye plants were larger in root and shoot biomass, plant volume and fruit yield than were southern highbush plants at the termination of the evaluation period. Performance of cultivars within blueberry type (species) was similar. Rabbiteye blueberry plants performed better than the southern highbush plants at the Overton, TX
