EXPERIENCES OF LAPAROSCOPIC HERNIORRHAPHY -FEMORAL HERNIA-

We usually experience direct and indirect inguinal hernias more frequently than femoral hernias. We have done laparoscopic herniorrhaphy (transabdominal approach) in 25 patients. Two of them had femoral hernia and recovered without any complications. Endoscopic surgery has become widespread on the ground of less postoperative sore, sooner return to daily life and cosmetic benefit. In laparoscopic herniorrhaphy, we can easily diagnose and treat combined hernia simultaneously using polypropylene mesh. Laparoscopic herniorraphy is considered by no means inferior to the conventional method by anterior approach.
