摘要
Sinkhole can be responsible for varying degrees of damage depending on its dimensions, the type of land in which it occurs and ground occupation. Sinkhole is often predicted on the basis of current practice and experience feedback. We have sought to simulate the rupture mechanism and predict the form of the shape-bell (arch), which results from its propagation to the surface. This simulation, carried out using the distinct elements method (UDEC), is supported by observations. It has been applied to a real case, using data from the Paris region and is based on a methodology of progressive generation of the fractures in the cap rock strata. To help understand this complex phenomenon, we have presented the results obtained from study of the sensitivity of sinkhole formation to variations in horizontal stress. This study confirms that the methodology proposed is a valid method for predicting the formation of sinkhole.
