Abstract
No-touch disinfection systems like pulsed xenon-based or mercury-based ultraviolet (UV) are being used for hospital room disinfection. However, the possible development of bacterial resistance to UV light from no-touch disinfection systems requires examination. We tested 3 epidemiologically important multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs) for the development of UV resistance related to serial exposure to UV light.
