2nd Asian Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management (ISCRAM-ASIA 2014)

Ten years after the Tsunami, and in face of the growing challenges of Climate Change and increasing vulnerability, ISCRAM-Asia 2014 focused on how information and communication technology can strengthen disaster preparedness and response and improve the resilience of communities and organizations. The conference brought together researchers and practitioners working in the area of information systems for crisis response. The opportunity was for academic researchers in Asia to present new research and for practitioners to discuss best practices. The 2nd ISCRAM-ASIA Conference on Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management (ISCRAM-Asia 2014) was be held at the Prof. V. K. Samaranayake Auditorium, University of Colombo School of Computing, Colombo, Sri Lanka, from June 20 to 21, 2014. Â ISCRAM-ASIA 2014 was part of the IOTX Convention hosted by LIRNEasia, where IOTX stands for the 10th anniversary of the tragic Indian Ocean Tsunami. The ISCRAM Program Committee comprised members from Tsignhua University, China, Tilburge University, Netherlands, and Stockholm Environmental Institute. Â
