Abstract
This study assesses the passive immunity transfer in lambs from ewes that were fed diets with different energy or protein supplements during the last trimester of the gestational period. Blood samples were collected from 70 lambs born from 50 ewes to determine serum gamma-glutamyl transferase activity, total protein, gammaglobulin, and immunoglobulin G concentrations. Statistical analysis showed no differences related to the type of diet ingested by the ewe. Furthermore, findings from single and twin lambs were compared, revealing that the latter group presented lower levels for all variables.
