Gamma-Ray Burst Variability - A Search For Correlations With Other Parameters

We present an analysis of BATSE GRB time profiles using an algorithm that is based on the statistics of runs up and down. This algorithm has been shown to be a good measure of burst ‘‘structure’’ (Lestrade, 1994) and is less sensitive to burst distance than algorithms that depend directly on the intensity of peaks in a burst. The results show no indication of a two‐population source for cosmic gamma‐ray bursts.
